SurfTech 6020 Titanium Nitride (TiN) Coating

Titanium nitride. Gold finish.

Titanium nitride is the film most engineers picture when they hear PVD. It is well characterized, it performs across a wide range of general tooling, and its gold color makes wear visible from across the shop.

Titanium nitride

A hard nitride with a long service record on drills, taps, end mills, punches and dies. The gold appearance is a genuine working advantage: an operator can see at a glance where the film has worn through and when a tool is due for regrind.

  • Proven wear performance across general tooling
  • Visible gold finish shows wear at a glance
  • Chemically stable and inert in service
  • Deposited below 200 °F, so hardened steel keeps its temper
